MY BIOGRAPHY Zenda Moses Mkeghter is a dedicated Architect and design professional based in Abuja, Nigeria, with a strong foundation in creative problem-solving and a passion for shaping built environments.Zenda's educational journey began in 1974 at N.K.S.T. Central Primary School, where my early interest in drawing, building models, and exploring spaces sparked a lifelong fascination with architecture. This curiosity led through secondary school, excelling in subjects like mathematics, technical drawing, and the pure sciences as chemistry, biology and physics. Although I was doing well in the sciences, I still had deep love for fine arts, building designs and the environment which laid the groundwork for higher studies, hence my choice to study Architecture in the University.In September 1991, I resumed studies to pursue a degree in architecture at one of the most prestigious universities in Nigeria, the University of Jos, where I graduated in 1996/97 with a second class honours degree in Architecture. With over 25 years of professional experience, Zenda has built a versatile career spanning design, construction, site supervision, and project management. Starting from entry-level roles in architectural firms, Zenda progressed to leading multidisciplinary teams on residential, commercial, and institutional projects across Nigeria. Key highlights include conceptualizing innovative building designs, managing construction processes from foundation to completion, ensuring compliance with building codes and quality standards, and overseeing large-scale developments while coordinating contractors, engineers, and clients. This extensive hands-on involvement has honed strong leadership, budgeting, and problem-solving abilities in dynamic real-world environments.Looking ahead, I find myself driven by very ambitious career goals: to lead transformative projects that prioritize sustainable and eco-friendly design, contribute to urban development initiatives addressing Nigeria's growing cities, mentor emerging architects, and potentially establish or expand a practice focused on impactful, community-oriented architecture. One of my greatest aspirations is to integrate modern technologies like BIM and green building certifications while creating spaces that enhance quality of life and cultural identity.Beyond professional pursuits, I enjoy personal interests that complement the architectural mindset, including traveling to study diverse building traditions and urban landscapes, photography (particularly capturing architectural details and light in built environments), reading on art history, urbanism, and design innovation, and exploring sustainable living practices through gardening or environmental advocacy.
